The Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism at the University of Southern California seeks a highly qualified adjunct instructor to teach PR450:Building Integrated Campaigns. PR 450 serves as a culminating, professionally oriented seminar that synthesizes prior coursework and applies it to strategic analysis, case studies, and the development of integrated public relations campaigns. This course functions as a live, industry-style lab in which student teams partner with real-world clients to design and execute purpose-driven campaigns for organizations or causes. The course emphasizes the application of strategic thinking, the Public Relations planning process, and the integration of theory and practice within a professional context. Applicants should be able to guide students in strategic analysis and planning, campaign development, and the Strategic Integrated Planning (SIP) method. Instruction includes coaching students through team-based collaboration, client engagement, and the evolution of campaigns from concept to execution. An emphasis is placed on critical thinking, problem-solving, and the ability to translate insights into actionable communication strategies. Applicants should also be prepared to mentor students in professional development, including resume building, interviewing skills, and job search strategies, as well as to facilitate oral presentations and critiques of recent successful campaigns. Familiarity with current industry trends and practices across sectors is essential. Requirements for consideration include a B.A., B.S., M.S., or an M.A. degree in a related field. Previous teaching experience is desirable. For some courses, outstanding professional experience may be substituted for academic credentials. Applicants should send a letter describing their background, interests, and areas of expertise, along with an up-to-date resume or curriculum vitae, through the Careers at USC website. The hourly range for this position is $37.88 - $46.96. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, as well as external market and organizational considerations. The USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism is among the nation's leading institutions devoted to the study of communication, journalism, and public relations. With an enrollment of 2,400 undergraduate and graduate students, USC Annenberg scholars, both students and faculty, are defining these fields for the 21st century and beyond. Job ID REQ20174631
