Position Summary

Job Profile Summary

  • The Aerospace Press Operator works in the General Aviation bonding area of the facility to ensure the timely manufacture of high-quality products, maintaining an uninterrupted supply to customers.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities

  • Operate various presses using multiple machine combinations to produce a variety of products.

  • Clean bonded parts in accordance with aerospace requirements.

  • Set controls and perform necessary checks and adjustments to meet or improve production rates.

  • Properly install and remove press accessories from presses.

  • Operate a forklift (up to 25% of the time).

  • Use pre-heaters and bake ovens (up to 50% of the time); mill knives (up to 25% of the time); and tools such as pliers, drills, wire brushes, and measuring/recording devices (up to 25% of the time).

  • Perform physical activities including standing (up to 90% of the time), grasping (up to 75%), walking (up to 50%), reaching (up to 50%), twisting (up to 25%), bending at 90 degrees (up to 20%), sitting (up to 10%), climbing (up to 10%), and pushing/pulling (up to 10%).

  • Carry and lift materials weighing up to 35 pounds (up to 50% of the time) and between 35 and 50 pounds (up to 40% of the time).

  • Work safely around hot equipment.

  • Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal procedures, processes, and instructions.

  • Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints.

  • Demonstrated computer literacy, including the ability to become proficient with Excel and SAP software.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Willingness and ability to work any shift and overtime as needed.

  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment with management and coworkers.

  • Strong communication skills with management and coworkers.

  • Ability to perform job duties safely, without posing significant risk to self or others.

  • Demonstrated commitment to self-improvement by acquiring new knowledge and skills and accepting new assignments.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Twelve to 18 months press room experience.

  • Maintain operator certification to remain in the job.

This position falls within the scope of the FM Drug and Alcohol program and potential employees must pass FAA Drug Screen upon hire and submit to random testing as required.
