SCOPE

Conductsvarietyofmechanicaland functional tests on subassembliesandfinal assemblies to ensureequipmentfunctions according to specifications or todeterminecause of unit failure by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following.

Other duties may be assigned.

Reads test procedures, work orders, test manuals, performancespecifications, andschematics todeterminetestingprocedureand equipment to be used.

Reviews blueprints and BOMspecificationto compare to produced equipment.

Verifies dimensions on mechanical parts

Tests functional performance of systems, and subassemblies.

Perform mass spectrometertests on equipment.

Pressure test equipment andensureequipmentbeing testediscompatiblewith the maximum test pressure.

Reads dials or digital displays thatindicatemoisture analysis.

Examinesjointto detect flaws, such as cracks, cold weld, spatter, and undercuts, using flashlight and magnifying glass. Uses blacklight to exam part for cleanliness.

Comparesresults with specifications andrecordstest data.

Analyzestest results on defective units todeterminecauseof failure.

Confers with engineers, technicians, production personnel, and othersregardingtesting procedures and results and to resolve problems.

Devises test equipment setup to evaluate performance and operation of nonstandard or customer returned units.

Documentstest resultsin accordance withestablished procedures.

Labelsequipment with tags and serial numbers.

Prepare equipment for shipping with necessary end caps and bagging,

Keep measurement equipmentoperatingaccurately by following calibration requirements and scheduling repairs.
