Tasks of Position

The following are core and essential responsibilities of this position. Associates are responsible for completing any and all duties assigned as required for the successful operation of our business. All associates are required to perform their job duties in a manner which upholds the integrity and honesty of our company.

  • Reporting for assigned work on time, and on a regular basis, prepared to provide excellent service and leadership
  • Mentoring new associates or associates who are new to the department or task and assuring a positive learning environment.
  • Understanding pricing programs, ads, month long savings guide and managing any store pricing discrepancies and appropriate maintenance by completing the following duties:
  • Reporting to the Grocery Merchandiser of any changes.
  • Keying data into the computer system for all promotional pricing for ads, month long savings guide, and all perishable department regular price maintenance.
  • Proofing all ads to verify accuracy of price, product description and art.
  • Managing ad billing, including but not limited to, bill back and scan back tracking, ad loss reporting and distribution for grocery and general merchandise departments, data entry and selection for all TPR pricing for direct store delivery merchandise, and vendor I.D. maintenance.
  • Developing and distributing weekly ad bulletins and monthly coupon book bulletins.
  • Conducting competitive price checks and analyzing data for the purpose of maintaining competitive price position in the retail market.
  • Communicating with scan coordinators and regularly troubleshoots at store level. This includes but is not limited to retail price issues for all departments, and ad information.
  • Printing and distributing price book as needed.
  • Maintaining and analyzing any discrepancies at store level.
  • Ensuring all work performed in the office is completed in accordance with work rules, company policies, and any applicable laws.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Education and/or Experience

Bachelors Degree and/or a minimum of four years related experience or training, or equivalent combination of experience and training.

  • Language Skills

Reads, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Writes reports and business correspondence. Presents information and respond to questions pleasantly and effectively to other associates, vendors, guests, and the general public at all times.

  • Mathematical Skills

Calculates measurements, figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages and volume. Performs mathematical skills using units of American money and weight measurement, volume.

  • Reasoning Ability

Solves practical problems and deals with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interprets a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • Other Qualifications

This position requires flexibility. The individual performing this job must be able to stay focused with a number of interruptions. Also, this position requires excellent attention to detail and goal-orientation. The individual performing this work must have an overall comprehension of the cause and effect relationship in the areas of pricing and merchandising products for the company in varying marketplaces. Ability to travel to all stores on an as needed basis is required. Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, including email required. Knowledge of RIMS helpful, but not required.

Physical Demands & Safety Expectations

Most positions within Yoke's require physical effort to varying degrees. As such, associates are expected to be mindful of practicing Yoke's safety standards at all times. This may include using personal protective equipment when and where required, understanding ergonomic safety, chemical hazards, safe lifting techniques, lockout/tag out procedures, and emergency protocol. All associates are required to report accidents within 24 hours.
