Role Overview

The Technician I plays a key role in supporting daily pharmacy operations, helping ensure products are prepared, packaged, and delivered safely and accurately. This position is well-suited for employees who are detail-oriented, reliable, and interested in building technical expertise while working closely with pharmacists, drivers, and pharmacy leadership.

This role offers exposure to regulated pharmacy operations, radiation safety practices, and logistics workflows that can support future advancement within Jubilant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take customer orders for diagnostic radiopharmaceuticals and enter order information into the computer system, where allowed by Board of Pharmacy regulations
  • Follow all Board of Pharmacy regulations related to technician training, certification, registration, or other credentialing requirements
  • Perform quality assurance testing of instruments and quality control testing of radiopharmaceutical products under the direction of an authorized nuclear pharmacist and/or Radiation Safety Officer (RSO), including thin layer chromatography, survey meter checks, MCA/SCA checks, area wipes, and surveys
  • Prepare bills of lading, labeling, and DOT documentation for packaging and shipping radiopharmaceutical doses, pursuant to function-specific DOT Hazardous Materials (Haz Mat) training
  • Assist drivers and delivery teams, help determine delivery routing and scheduling, and respond to delivery-related inquiries from customers
  • Operate a vehicle to deliver products to hospitals, clinics, and other facilities as directed, pursuant to function-specific DOT Haz Mat training
  • Conduct radiation wipes and surveys using appropriate instrumentation such as portable survey meters and MCA/SCA equipment
  • Participate in the return and disposal of spent radiopharmaceutical doses into approved biohazard sharps containers for decay-in-storage, pursuant to bloodborne pathogens training
  • Clean and prepare unit dose containers (pigs) for return to active inventory
  • Assist with packing, wrapping, surveying shipments, completing DOT paperwork, shipment labeling, and bills of lading
  • Maintain knowledge of radiation safety and stay current on organizational, state, and federal guidelines related to radioactive materials
  • Support lab organization and cleanliness in accordance with USP 797 cleaning policies and procedures
  • Receive shipments, restock inventory, and assist with inventory management and ordering under pharmacist or RSO direction
  • Support daily operations to maintain workflow, schedules, and quality standards, and report equipment or supply issues as needed
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area and follow all safety procedures and protective equipment requirements
  • Participate in meetings, training, and work groups to support continuous learning and process improvement
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Certified pharmacy technician preferred
  • Achieves and maintains appropriate licensure and/or certification as required by the Board of Pharmacy
  • Completes continuing education (CE) or retraining as required by the Board of Pharmacy
  • Basic math skills, including decimals and fractions
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills
  • Customer-focused and team-oriented approach
  • Microsoft Word and Excel proficiency preferred
  • Ability to successfully pass the company's background check and pre-employment drug test
  • Ability to operate a vehicle and maintain a valid driver's license
