Welder

This position includes welding assigned parts during the manufacture process of railroad equipment including set up and secure parts and assemblies according to specifications

using fixtures and/or blueprints combined with measuring devices.

Specific Responsibilities

• Ability to weld with MIG Wire up to .045
• Preheat parts up to 450 degrees F
• Weld plates or parts up to 2" in thickness
• Inspect grooves, angles, gap allowances, squareness or imperfections on parts
• Remove rough spots from work piece, using a grinder, hand chisel, or pneumatic chisel
• Weld components in flat, vertical or angled positions
• Set up parts per blueprint drawing using fixtures or other measuring devices
• Other duties as assigned
