Job Summary As a Landfill Laborer, you will assist with the day-to-day operations of the landfill site, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards. This role is ideal for dependable individuals who enjoy physical work and are committed to maintaining a clean and safe worksite. Key Responsibilities Assist with daily landfill operations to maintain a safe and efficient site Pick up windblown debris and maintain cleanliness of landfill property Direct vehicle traffic to appropriate dumping areas when needed Perform general labor duties such as sweeping, shoveling, and site maintenance Operate small equipment or tools as trained Follow all safety, environmental, and OSHA regulations Communicate effectively with equipment operators, drivers, and supervisors Complete assigned tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail Perform other job-related duties as assigned What We're Looking For Ability to perform physical labor in outdoor conditions year-round Strong commitment to safety and teamwork Dependable attendance and positive work ethic Ability to follow instructions and company policies Prior landfill, construction, or outdoor labor experience is a plus (not required) Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or overtime as needed Compensation & Benefits We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package designed to support you and your family: Competitive hourly pay ($18 to $20/hr based on experience) 401(k) with company match Comprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance Paid time off and holidays Employee Assistance Program & Mental Health Support Employee Stock Purchase Plan Life Insurance and ShortTerm/LongTerm Disability coverage Career growth and promotion opportunities within Waste Connections Why Work for Waste Connections in Athens, TN?
