*This is a hybrid role based out of our HQ in Richmond, CA. In-office expectation is 4 days a week.*

ABOUT THE POSITION

The Sr. Sourcing Specialist is responsible for sourcing and costing a segment of the product line, ensuring alignment with company goals for margin, quality, and delivery. This role leads seasonal sourcing strategies, manages the interface between sourcing and cross-functional partners, and serves as a key liaison between the home office and global liaison offices.

The Sr. Sourcing Specialist brings strong expertise in product costing, manufacturing, and vendor management to support the successful development and commercialization of products. This role operates independently, providing leadership and strategic direction within their category while driving continuous improvement across sourcing processes.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Establish and execute seasonal sourcing strategies for assigned product categories, ensuring alignment with company margin, delivery, and quality goals.

  • Lead the source selection process, balancing factory-specific, country-specific, and open bid models to optimize cost and performance.

  • Drive the end-to-end product costing process, including pre-costing, in-line costing, and SMU costing, ensuring category profitability targets are met.

  • Partner cross-functionally with Merchandising, Product Development, Planning, Quality, and global liaison teams to support product commercialization.

  • Provide manufacturing expertise in garment construction, costing, material development, and production constraints.

  • Negotiate pricing using deep knowledge of cost components to deliver competitive and transparent costing outcomes.

  • Monitor factory performance across quality, delivery, cost, and compliance metrics; proactively address risks and performance gaps.

  • Identify and develop new sourcing opportunities based on global trends, trade regulations, and vendor capabilities.

  • Manage high-impact production issues, including non-conformance quality concerns; lead root cause analysis and recommend solutions to leadership.

  • Collaborate with Product Integrity and Quality teams to implement corrective and preventive actions that drive continuous improvement.

  • Lead product engineering and cost mitigation initiatives, delivering measurable results and process improvements.

  • Support and streamline SMU processes, ensuring timely execution and clear cross-functional communication.

  • Partner with Planning teams on forecasts, buy plans, and lead-time alignment.

  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with vendors, internal teams, and global partners to support sourcing objectives.

  • Act as the voice of sourcing within the category, influencing decisions and driving alignment across stakeholders.

  • Travel domestically and internationally to support vendor relationships, sourcing strategy, and production oversight.

YOU ARE

  • A strategic thinker with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate complex sourcing and manufacturing challenges.

  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and tight timelines.

  • A confident communicator who can clearly present insights, recommendations, and trade-offs to stakeholders.

YOU HAVE

  • Bachelor's degree, relevant certification, or equivalent experience.

  • 5-8 years of experience in sourcing, costing, or product-related functions within the apparel/textile industry.

  • Strong knowledge of global sourcing strategies, vendor management, and supply chain operations.

  • Understanding of global trade regulations and agreements impacting apparel sourcing.

  • Solid expertise in garment construction, costing methodologies, and manufacturing processes.

  • Experience evaluating factory performance, capacity, and compliance standards.

  • Proficiency with business tools and systems (Excel, PowerPoint, PLM/ERP, and collaboration platforms).

  • Ability to communicate complex or technical information clearly in English.

  • Experience working with global teams and diverse cultures.

  • Ability to manage time pressures and solve complex problems independently.

  • Willingness to travel up to 25%, including international travel.
