Responsibilities The Division of Pediatric Cardiology and Norton Children's Heart Institute in Louisville, KY are seeking to recruit an invasive Pediatric and ACHD Electrophysiologist. The role includes shared responsibilities for inpatient and outpatient electrophysiology care with 2 pediatric electrophysiologists, APRN and 2 nurses. The program offers a full Electrophysiology Service, including interventional procedures and inpatient, outpatient, telehealth consultations; interpreting ECGs, ambulatory monitors, and device interrogations; and genetic counseling. Norton Children's Hospital is the only free-standing children's hospital in Kentucky with 300 beds, and 2 state-of-the-art cardiac catheterization labs including a hybrid suite, a 17-bed Cardiac ICU, 12-bed stepdown unit, and inpatient telemetry throughout the hospital with remote monitoring. The interventional EP laboratory has a biplane cine-angiography and is outfitted with a Carto-3 electroanatomic 3D mapping system. The program continues to grow and currently performs ~130 cases/year. Procedures include intracardiac, transesophageal and intraoperative electrophysiology studies, catheter ablation using radiofrequency, cryothermy and pulsed field technologies, and implantation and management of transvenous, subcutaneous and leadless cardiac electrical devices. pacemakers and defibrillators. In addition, there are many opportunities for teaching and institutional and multicenter clinical research. Norton Children's Heart Institute and the Division of Pediatric Cardiology have continued to grow exponentially over the past few years. The division of currently has 24 Pediatric Cardiologists and 18 Advanced Practice Providers comprising highly collaborative programs in adult congenital heart disease, advanced heart failure and cardiac transplantation, cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology, and fetal cardiology. The program was ranked as one of the top cardiac programs by US News and World Report for 2024-2025. Qualifications Qualifications Candidates must be board-certified in Pediatric Cardiology with the American Board of Pediatrics and have subspecialty fellowship training in pediatric and adult congenital electrophysiology. Candidates must be licensed or eligible to be licensed in the state of Kentucky. Ideal candidates would have excellent clinical skills and be solid team players. A strong interest in medical education and clinical research is preferred. | |
