THE POSITION

The Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA) is seeking a dedicated Storekeeper 2 to join our purchasing team at the Southeastern Veterans' Center. In this vital role, you will oversee the full scope of storeroom operations, including the receipt, storage, distribution, and accurate recordkeeping of supplies. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will oversee the receipt, inspection, acceptance, and distribution of all commodities throughout the facility. You will collaborate closely with supervisors and department heads to coordinate incoming deliveries and ensure timely distribution to all departments. In partnership with the maintenance team, you will also help facilitate the assembly and setup of new equipment. Your responsibilities will include assisting with the receiving, unloading, inspection, and verification of shipments. You will supervise stock clerks by planning, assigning, and guiding their daily work to ensure efficient storeroom operations. All duties will be carried out in adherence to DMVA safety standards, as well as position-specific safety protocols, to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 7.5 hours per day; 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Four years of experience in stores control work, including two years of supervisory experience or in charge of a storeroom with considerable volume and variety of commodities; and such training as may have been gained through graduation from a standard high school or vocational school; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirement:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
