Event Services Operations Staff (Equipment Operator B)

As part of the Operations and Maintenance Division, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and seamless operation of the Farm Show Complex. This hands-on position supports all aspects of event setup, maintenance, and teardown, while also maintaining equipment, facility buildings, and grounds-including custodial tasks, general repairs, trash removal, and seasonal snow clearing. You will work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, helping prepare the complex for a wide variety of events and ensuring the facility remains clean, functional, and event-ready at all times.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• This position is considered essential. You will be required to report to working during emergencies and office closings.
• Work hours are 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, Thursday - Monday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• One year of experience as an Equipment Operator A; or
• Two years of experience in the operation of heavy construction and specialized maintenance equipment used at this level with a gross vehicle weight of 32,001 pounds or more; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience or training.

Special Requirements:

• Possession of a valid Class C Pennsylvania driver's license.

Conditions of Employment:

• This position requires possession of a valid Class B commercial driver's license (CDL) with Passenger and Airbrake Endorsements to be obtained by end of probationary period.

Additional Requirements:

• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

• Experience working with animals and livestock in large-scale public events
