HSSE Manager - Large Power Transformers

As the HSSE Manager for a new manufacturing site, you will play a pivotal role in setting the foundation for safe, reliable, and highperforming operations from day one. You will work at the heart of a major facility build and startup, partnering with project teams, construction leaders, contractors, and site leadership to embed learning, risk awareness, and operational resilience into every phase of the journey. How you'll make an impact

You will lead and enable HSSE (Health, Safety, Security, and Environment) efforts to understand, manage, and reduce risk during the design, construction, installation, commissioning, and startup of a new manufacturing facility. This role focuses on building strong systems, leadership behaviors, and organizational capability that support safe and reliable operations from day one and beyond.

• Lead and develop a highperforming HSSE team through construction, commissioning, and transition to operations

• Establish HSSE systems aligned with Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) principles

• Partner with leaders as a trusted coach to strengthen learning, accountability, and risk management

• Influence early design, hazard analysis, and constructability decisions to reduce risk at the source

• Integrate HSSE expectations into contractor selection, onboarding, and execution

• Support highrisk and nonroutine work planning, including prestartup safety reviews

• Lead nonpunitive incident and learning reviews focused on system improvement

• Use insights, trends, and audits to drive continuous improvement and organizational resilience

Your background

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental, Chemistry, or Occupational Health & Safety disciplines

• Minimum of 8 years of progressive HSSE experience in industrial or manufacturing environments

• At least 2 years of people leadership or managerial experience

• Experience supporting construction, capital projects, commissioning, or facility startups

• Strong coaching, influencing, and communication skills across diverse stakeholder groups

• Ability to operate effectively in dynamic, fastchanging project environments
