About this position:



The Nurse Educator (Nursing Practice and Professional Development Specialist) provides professional development and education to assist staff in preparing for contemporary practice and support in acquiring the evidence-based knowledge and skills needed to competently care for Labor & Delivery patients. She/he facilitates bridging the gap between research and evidence-based practice ensuring quality and safe patient care both directly and indirectly. She/he participates in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating activities associated with comprehensive unit-based and hospital-wide nursing educational needs.

Minimum Education and Experience Required:




  1. Licensure as a Registered Nurse (R.N.) in the District of Columbia which includes a certification and a separate CNS license.
  2. Master's degree in nursing or related discipline preferred or must be matriculated into a master's program within 9 months of employment.
  3. Board-Certification within specialty preferred or acquired within 9 months of employment.
  4. Minimum of 5 years of RN experience; Labor & Development plus experience as an Educator.
  5. Current CPR Certification required.



Salary Range: Minimum 47.93/hour - Maximum 74.29/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
