Position Summary:
Under general supervision and in accordance with established standards, methods and procedures, constructs, installs, repairs and maintains furniture and structural fixtures composed of wood and allied materials.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responding to routine and emergency service requests via online work order, radio dispatch or as assigned by Group Leader/Supervisor.
  • Planning assigned work by examining detailed blueprints/drawings and project specifications, selecting and obtaining needed equipment and materials and determining appropriate sequence of tasks.
  • Measuring, cutting, constructing and/or assembling shelving, windows, doors, bookcases and other building fixtures and furnishings composed of wood and allied materials, such as glass and Formica.
  • Operating light hand and power tools as well as specialized cutting and finishing equipment such as glass cutters, power saws, lathes and sanding devices.
  • Performing installation, repairing and maintenance of furniture and building fixtures within scope of trade.
  • Installing, removing, repairing and/or replacing ceiling and floor tiles, shelves, office partitions, windows, doors and other related items built into or secured to building walls, floors and ceilings.

Minimum Qualification:
  • A High School Education/GED and up to 1 year of basic technical training.
Experience:
  • 1 to 2 years' experience required
  • 3 to 4 years of facilities experience preferred.
Shift/hours:
  • Sunday - Thursday: 7:00am - 3:30pm

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
