POSITION SUMMARY: The registered nurse, adheres to the rules and regulations of the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing. is primarily responsible for professional performance and direct patient care. The role encompasses nursing assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, and coordination of care for patients and their families across the health care continuum. The registered nurse is accountable for clinical, educational, quality and fiscal patient care outcomes using the model of care designed by the nursing department and in accordance with established agency policies, procedures, protocols, guidelines and standards of practice. Colorectal RN Job Expectations: 1. RN to clinically triage any incoming calls and referrals a. More specifically, RN to call patients to discuss labs and/or benign pathology results that were done in the office. Also to review the medication instructions/adherence of new medications that were started in the clinic b. Routine post-op calls to check on patients -essential to decrease OP-36 (unplanned readmit/ED visit within 7 days of outpatient surgery) 2. Reminder calls for colonoscopies and upcoming surgeries to review prep. 3. Inbasket management 4. Route prescription refills to APPs 5 Colon cancer patient tracking in preparation for future NAPRC accreditation 6. Assist in office procedures, wound care/stoma care 7. FMLA paperwork Compensation Range: $38.05- $75.33This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications.
