Home Loan Specialist / Loan Closing Assistant (Entry Level) Position Summary The Home Loan Specialist / Loan Closing Assistant plays a key role in supporting the Closing, Funding, and Financial departments by assisting brokers, settlement agents, and internal teams throughout the loan closing process. This position serves as a primary point of contact for closingrelated inquiries, performs backoffice loan tasks, and helps ensure files are compliant, complete, and ready to close. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates seeking to start or grow a career in the mortgage and financial services industry. Key Responsibilities * Handle inbound calls from brokers and settlement agents, answering closingrelated questions and providing guidance * Call volume may range from 5-25 calls per day, depending on business needs * Respond to portal messages, emails, and chat inquiries related to loan closings * Perform backoffice functions, including document preparation, review, and title clearance * Troubleshoot and coordinate thirdparty orders (title, appraisal, hazard insurance, flood certification, credit, etc.) * Collaborate with internal departments to ensure loan files are accurate, complete, and ready to close * Evaluate loan files for product guideline and regulatory compliance * Maintain accurate records and documentation of loan activities Qualifications * High school diploma or equivalent required * Mortgage, title, escrow, or financial services experience preferred but not required * Recent graduates or candidates with minimal experience are encouraged to apply * Candidates without a degree must have at least 1 year of relevant work experience * Strong phone skills with excellent customer service and professionalism * Ability to quickly learn new processes and adapt in a fastpaced environment * Experience with Encompass is preferred but not required * Ability to become certified in Fee Collaboration and Closing Required / Preferred Skills * Home loan processes * Loan administration and documentation * Mortgage and loan processing * Data entry and documentation review * Phone etiquette and phone support * Administrative and customer service support * Title companies and title insurance exposure * Closing support and mortgage servicing * Financial services knowledge * General understanding of federal, state, and local regulations preferred Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Moorpark, CA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
