Summary:
The Nurse Externship is a 6 month training program for current nursing students to learn roles. This program consists of both didactic and clinical education. Students must be able to work 8 hours minimum per week and 20 hours during school breaks.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the registered nurse by performing delegated duties to include patient assessments, planning, and implementation of care.

• Participate in didactic and hands on clinical education.

• Perform documentation under the director of a Registered Nurse.

• Communicate effectively with members of the health care team, patients, and family members.

• Function as a cooperative and active member of the care team.

Required

• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited school of nursing.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
