Postdoctoral Research Associate - Chemical Engineering

General Summary of Position:

The successful applicant will work on the development of plant cell culture technology for industrially relevant plant systems (e.g., Taxus for paclitaxel production), including the use of synthetic biology and bioinformatics techniques. There is flexibility in project direction depending on the applicant's interests. This position will involve supervising students, writing grants and publications, and maintaining and upgrading the laboratory. This is a one-year position with the option for renewal based on the availability of funding.

Minimum Qualifications (Required):



  • PhD in Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Plant Biology or related discipline. Experience and background in plant systems, cell culture, synthetic biology, analytical chemistry techniques, and data sciences (bioinformatics).


Additional Considerations:



  • Industry experience in biomanufacturing preferred.

This position is full-time, benefited and in the MTA/Grants & Contracts union in grade PD. Anticipated salary anticipated at $60,000-$65,000. PD range minimum is $50,000 with 25th quartile of $56,500 and midpoint of $63,000.

This position is contingent upon funding.
