Description |
The US Finance Director is the senior finance and accounting leader for the US region and a key member of the Company's Finance Leadership team. This role is accountable for US accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, and audit execution, while also performing Assistant Controller responsibilities in support of global consolidation and reporting.
The US Finance Director leads US accounting, AR, AP, and plant controllership teams and is responsible for the integrity, timeliness, and accuracy of US GAAP financial reporting. The role serves as the primary US finance liaison with external auditors, tax advisors, and lenders, and partners closely with the Global Controller and cross functional leaders to drive operational discipline, working capital performance, and continuous improvement.
This position exercises significant judgment and leadership to ensure compliance with US GAAP, internal policies, and regulatory requirements, while scaling finance processes to support growth, acquisitions, and increasing organizational complexity. |

Role Specific Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Management:
- Lead and develop US accounting, AR, AP, and plant controllership teams, including talent development, performance management, and succession planning
- Establish clear expectations, accountability, and development plans to build a highperforming finance organization
- Champion a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and strong internal controls
- Focus on improvement of current processes to drive regional and global consistency.
Accounting, Reporting, and Close:
- Lead the US monthly close process and ensure accurate, timely US GAAP reporting
- Review and approve key journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and accounting judgments
- Support global consolidation and internal/external reporting processes in partnership with the Global Controller
- Coordinate US Tax compliance with external tax consultants
- Compile and report on the US region's weekly cash forecast to support regional and global liquidity.
Audit, Controls, & Compliance:
- Serve as the primary US finance contact for external auditors and lead US audit planning, execution, and issue resolution
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP, internal accounting policies, and internal control requirements
- Oversee statutory, regulatory, and lender reporting for the US region
Business Partnership:
- Partner with operations, supply chain, and commercial leaders to improve working capital, inventory management, and financial discipline
- Provide financial insight and leadership to support operational decisionmaking and business performance
Compliance:
- Complies with company Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures, and arrangements
- Reports all Health, Safety and Environmental accidents, incidents, and near misses promptly
- Acts in a safe and responsible manner at all times
Problem Solving and Innovation:
- Active participation within continuous improvement activities
- Tackles unique situations with a practical, problem-solving mindset.

Qualifications/Desired Skills
Education and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, CPA strongly preferred
Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including senior leadership roles within a complex, multi-entity environment.
- 5-7+ years leading and developing accounting or finance teams
- Experience in manufacturing and/or chemical industry strongly preferred
- Experience supporting audits, acquisitions, and lender reporting in a private or sponsorbacked environment preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge and familiarity with SAP
- Demonstrated ability to apply US GAAP judgment to complex accounting matters
- Experience developing and enforcing accounting policies and internal controls
- Ability to balance handson execution with strategic leadership
- Advanced Excel skills and the ability to operate, develop, implement, and improve IT-dependent processes.
- Knowledge of business processes, management, and improvement methodologies
- Ability to be a business partner with non-finance stakeholders
- Results oriented; sets aggressive goals for self and team
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate accounting/finance topics to non-finance stakeholders.
- Ability to multitask and deliver in an environment with multiple priorities and initiatives.
