Leidos is seeking a Cloud Engineerwith an active TS/SCI clearanceto join our team in Suitland, MD. In this role, you'll be a supporting the customer's Cloud Engineering and System Administration efforts for on-premises and cloud-based programs, primarily supporting a cloud-based hosting environment, cloud-based systems, on-premises systems, and other systems as needed.

As key member of the SysOps team, you'll manage and support organization tenants, within the next generation Cloud environment, tackle complex problems using your extensive applications and technical knowledge, conceptualizing and interpreting requirements to create effective solutions.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support on premise and cloud-based information technology programs, applications, and systems.
  • Partner with architects, engineers, system admins, cyber security personnel, and application development teams to discover, evaluate, and deploy new cloud services, features, & enhancements.
  • Provide technical consulting and expertise to mission business owners using AWS GovCloud services.
  • Monitor cloud resources, incurred costs, and user activities using cloud-native and 3rd party tools or develop custom tool sets.
  • Evaluate system utilization, monitor response time, and provide primary support for detection and correction of operational problems.
  • Consult and support various cloud migration methodologies from lift-and-shift to cloud-native rearchitecting.
  • Support the development of all required documentation necessary to support the engineering, operational, and DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes.
  • Promptly respond to system incidents, troubleshoot, and implement preventive/corrective measures in coordination with the cyber incident response team.
  • Configure and support containerization technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, Podman, EKS, and ECS, and customer-provided containerized applications.
  • Manage capacity planning, updates, upgrades and internal integration.
  • Manage the provisioning and de-provisioning of cloud services in several different domains.
  • Engage with external industry professionals such as vendors, other DoD/IC components, and service organizations for implementing solutions, requesting support, and learning best practices.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 8+ or 12+ years of related work experience or a Master's degree and 6+ or 10+ years of related work experience. Additional years of experience, trainings, and certifications may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance.
  • Active IAT Level II DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification (e.g., Security+ CE) or higher, or the ability to obtain within 30 days from offer of acceptance.
  • 6+ years of demonstrated Cloud engineering/system administration experience.
  • 6+ years of practical Linux and/or Windows Server experience.
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Knowledge of programming languages (i.e. Python).
  • Knowledge of system hardening (SRG/STIGS).
  • Experience in the following: Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) cloud service models; Cloud Networking, Cloud Storage, Cloud Computing, and Cloud Security; with containers (i.e. Docker, Kubernetes); developing solutions for system integration and automation; writing scripts (i.e. Shell, PowerShell).
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Up to 10% travel may be required within the local DMV area.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
  • Experience with CloudFormation, Terraform, and other IaC technologies.
  • Experience with Gitlab and other Version Control systems.
  • Experience with rack-mounted server hardware, physical networking, and peripherals.
  • Microsoft Exchange experience.
  • Microsoft 365 experience.
