Lead, Innovate, and Grow at Clariant! As a Maintenance Supervisor in Clariant's Adsorbents & Additives Business Unit, you will drive safe, efficient maintenance operations while making a real impact on reliability and performance. You will champion Life Saving Rules, support maintenance teams and contractors, and ensure work is executed with quality, safety, and precision. In close collaboration with planning and operations, you will drive daily execution, support team development, and strengthen accountability. You will also contribute to continuous improvement by identifying issues, supporting root cause actions, and participating in key maintenance projects. This is a hands-on role focused on building a culture of safety, reliability, and excellence every day.
Responsibilities
- Recognizes and applies Clariant Life Saving Rules in all work and strives to make conditions better than found.
- Requires occasional night or weekend schedule as required by business needs.
- Uses Microsoft and basic computer skills to access CMMS, training, drawings, etc.
- Requires lifting up to 50 lbs, carrying up to 25 lbs, and climbing stairs/ladders up to 180 feet.
- Provides direct supervision and leadership for hourly maintenance craftspersons and contracted crews.
- Coordinates and oversees daily maintenance activities, ensuring work orders are executed safely, efficiently, and according to plan.
- Works closely with Maintenance Planner and Gatekeeper to prioritize, schedule, and execute maintenance work.
- Monitors maintenance work quality and completion, ensuring proper repair methods, procedures, and documentation (SAP) are followed.
- Drives maintenance workforce accountability and performance, including coaching, training, and development of technicians.
- Supports reliability improvement initiatives by identifying recurring equipment issues and implementing corrective actions.
- Ensures proper use of SAP/CMMS systems, including accurate work order execution, status updates, and maintenance history documentation.
- Assists with execution of R&M capital projects, shutdowns, and major maintenance activities.
- Provides field leadership during maintenance activities, ensuring coordination between maintenance, operations, and contractors.
- Ensures proper use of tools, materials, and resources to execute maintenance work efficiently.
- Supports development of maintenance best practices, procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Participates in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and reliability improvement efforts.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED or Technical Degree with experience
- 2 to 5 years of experience in a supervisory role
