As a member of the IT Project Management Team, you will play a key role in enabling our team to be at its best in creating and delivering value to the company through managing the execution of projects driven or supported by information technology.
Job Responsibilities
- Support intake, evaluation, and selection of information technology projects with durations from 3 to 12 months with budgets of a few thousand dollars to over $1M each.
- Define, schedule, manage, and track expectations, responsibilities, scope, timelines, milestones, and tasks for assigned projects in collaboration with teams, stakeholders, and leaders.
- Use waterfall, agile or hybrid approach in project planning and execution according to project needs.
- Identify and manage project dependencies, maintain critical path objectives, analyze results, identify problem areas, and devise contingency plans.
- Facilitate and coordinate work breakdown and project execution activities with internal and external project team members, including vendors and consultants.
- Effectively communicate project developments and status to team and stakeholders in a clear and timely manner.
- Collaborate with IT leadership and project team members to develop and submit project budget proposals and updates for senior-level management.
- Prepare and maintain complete and accurate project documentation, notes, and artifacts, while ensuring full adherence to agreements, contracts, and scopes of work.
- Manage project closeout and turnover, including final documentation and lessons learned actions.
- Develop and maintain positive business relationships at a project, department, and company level.
- Collaborate with project delivery teams to continuously improve tools, frameworks, and documentation for project execution and management.
- Enhance team project management maturity through teaching and mentoring in project management techniques and topics.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, business management, or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of the Project Management Body of Knowledge, with Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Associate Project Management (CAPM) or related credentials and certification desired.
- 5+ years applicable IT project delivery experience and general familiarity in information technology concepts.
- Strong interpersonal skills, positive attitude with a strong, can-do, service focus.
- Excellent verbal, written, and visual communications skills.
- Flexible, adaptable, proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and in collaboration with others in a cross-functional environment.
- Ability to motivate and maintain positive engagement with project team, stakeholders, and IT across multiple projects over long project timelines.
- Balance expectations and facilitate between project teams and stakeholders to reach planned objectives.
- Experience with technical writing, including the ability to understand a business problem, draft requirements, and translate them into executable tasks.
- Experience with various project sizes and complexities, managing several projects at the same time.
- Competence in the use of MS Project, ProjectOnline, MS Teams, Office 365, and MS Azure DevOps is helpful.
