We are seeking a VPlevel Senior Software Developer to lead development and implementation of analytics tools and APIs for quants and portfolio managers. You will provide technical leadership while remaining handson:
- Design, build, test, and deploy scalable frontend applications, highperformance backend services, and APIs
- Translate quantitative and portfoliomanager requirements into robust technical designs and delivery plans
- Collaborate closely with engineers, quants, and portfolio managers to define scope, priorities, and solutions
- Own production delivery, system reliability, and incident response
- Lead by example through handson development and technical decisionmaking
- Mentor and support peers, contributing to engineering best practices and a strong development culture
Required Qualifications
- BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience delivering productiongrade systems.
- Strong proficiency in Python, with extensive handson experience using Pandas and SQL in production environments.
- Solid experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
- Proven experience building and operating distributed systems or largescale data processing platforms.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, and modern CI/CD pipelines.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
- Resultsoriented mindset with the flexibility to take on multiple responsibilities and deliver under time pressure.
- Direct experience working with quantitative teams or strong familiarity with quantitative workflows.
Preferred / Nice to Have
- Frontend development experience, including JavaScript and modern UI frameworks.
- Additional depth in largescale distributed architectures and performancecritical systems.
- Broader experience across cloud services and infrastructure tooling beyond core AWS usage.
PIMCO follows a total compensation approach when rewarding employees which includes a base salary and a discretionary bonus. Base salary is the fixed component of compensation that is determined by core job responsibilities, relevant experience, internal level, and market factors. The discretionary bonus is used to award performance and therefore is determined by company, business, team, and individual performance.
Salary Range: $ 175,000.00 - $ 240,000.00
