Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Corporate Communications Intern to support our global Corporate Communications function. This fully remote internship is ideal for a student to gain hands-on experience in communications within a fast-paced, mission-driven medical device organization. The internship requires excellent writing skills and high proficiency in creating compelling interesting stories and content for a variety of internal and external audiences. Getinge is looking for a candidate who is very proficient and savvy with social media tools and creating content for these channels. The candidate should be interested in health care and medical industry and interested in creating compelling communications from complex information.

Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties



  • Assist in drafting and editing internal communications, including newsletters, announcements, leadership messages, and intranet content.
  • Support external communications efforts such as press releases, social media content, corporate website updates, and marketing materials.
  • Conduct background research to support messaging, campaigns, and communication planning.
  • Assist in content gathering and storytelling initiatives across the business, including employee spotlights and product innovation updates.
  • Partner with HR, Marketing, and other internal teams to support communications requests and ensure message consistency.
  • Monitor media coverage, compile analytics, and support reporting on communications performance.
  • Support virtual events including webinars, leadership town halls, and training sessions (planning, tech checks, and logistics).
  • Ensure all communications align with brand voice, regulatory standards, and industry best practices.



Minimum Requirements



  • Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or a related field
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences.
  • Understanding of how to create storytelling content for social media, primarily LinkedIn required
  • Understanding and experience with managing video editing for platforms like Youtube preferred, but not required
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a remote environment.
  • High attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
  • Interest in healthcare, medical devices, life sciences, or highly regulated industries.



Required Technical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



  • Proficiency with communication platforms such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and Yammer/Viva Engage.
  • Experience with content management systems (CMS) or intranet publishing tools preferred.
  • Basic design capability using Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, or similar tools preferred.
  • Understanding of social media strategy and analytics (LinkedIn, X/Twitter, YouTube).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
  • Basic knowledge of media monitoring platforms or analytics dashboards (e.g., Meltwater, Sprout Social) preferred.



This is a remote position but preference is someone who can be commutable to the Wayne, NJ location as needed.

Pay rate: $21 - $23 / hr
