Job Description

General Summary:

The Director, US Pain New Product Planning will lead our new product planning efforts for the US Pain Business Unit with a particular focus on building the launch plan for the commercialization of Journavx for people living with painful diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN). We are seeking a candidate that has a strong track record in US commercial roles, demonstrated ability to shape strategy and planning for pipeline assets, success in working with varied cross functional teams, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovation-focused environment. This role report to the Vice President of the US Pain Business Unit, and working closely with the Vice President of US Pain Marketing and the Vice President for Global Commercial Pain.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leads development of the US launch for Journavx in DPN including shaping the strategy with global integrating approaches across physicians, patients and payers
  • Deepens market insights that shape our understanding of the market and commercialization opportunities to enhance planning activities
  • Serves as interim launch readiness lead ensuring particularly close coordination with access, patient support, and operations teams to align promotional and access strategies
  • Develops the field force deployment plan including targeting and sizing
  • Develops the DTC activation plan including targeting, channel, and concept approaches
  • Drives launch of market development campaign educating target stakeholders, particularly physicians, on unmet need and mechanism of disease
  • Drives the development of the early US promotional campaign for the DPN launch, recommends evolution of existing campaign and key messages
  • Partners closely with the US Business Unit and the Global Commercial Team to tight integration of US launch learnings with global planning
  • Provides high value US input to appropriately shape the pipeline
  • Monitors competitive intelligence and adapts plans accordingly
  • Supports long-range planning & annual budgeting processes, providing input into forecasting assumptions
  • Manages vendor partners to ensure on budget & timely deliverables while creating beneficial relationships
  • Partner cross-functionally to build compelling clinical, patient, and economic value propositions
  • Regularly engages external customers including directly at congresses/in the field and via insights generation
  • Role models and instills a culture of compliance focused on ethics and integrity in all we do

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 8-10+ years of educational/work experience in healthcare/biopharmaceuticals in marketing, consulting or agency in, or an equivalent combination of experience and education

Required Skills

  • Experience defining the strategy for a brand or portfolio of products, ability to oversee generation of insights, and apply those insights to business problems/opportunities
  • Comfortable working in a highly collaborative and results-driven environment within a growing business unit where we are concurrently learning & building as we drive towards product launch
  • Analytical mindset, with ability to make strategic recommendations based on data and insights
  • Role models high performing team behaviors, all in on team activities and setting the tone for accountability and engagement
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including executive presence and strong MS office skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of the legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements for pre- and post-approval activities and ability to model expected behavior for the team

Pay Range:

$196,000 - $294,000

Disclosure Statement:

The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
