As the Senior Director of Recruiting Operations and Strategy, you will play a critical leadership role within Duke Football, shaping an inclusive, well-organized, and student-centered recruiting experience. You'll collaborate closely with coaches, staff, and campus partners to ensure every prospective student-athlete experiences Duke at its best.

In this highly visible and strategic role, you will oversee all on-campus recruiting operations while driving operational excellence, compliance, and innovation across the recruiting process.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide leadership and oversight for official and unofficial visits, including Junior Days, game days, and special recruiting events
  • Coordinate all operational logistics for recruiting visits, including:

    • Travel, lodging, and transportation (bus and car rentals)
    • Itineraries, schedules, and on-campus activities
    • Required paperwork for recruits and staff


  • Lead planning and execution for game day recruiting operations, including:

    • Guest lists and ticket approvals
    • Sideline access and operations
    • Pre-game and post-game recruiting activities


  • Oversee all on-campus unofficial visits, ensuring structure, staffing coverage, and event readiness
  • Assist the General Manager with recruiting-related application and operational requirements
  • Communicate with prospective student-athletes, families, and counselors in accordance with NCAA regulations
  • Serve as a liaison with the NCAA Eligibility Center and Duke Athletics Compliance Office
  • Coordinate and participate in onboarding events for incoming student-athletes
  • Partner with the Athletics creative team to support digital and recruiting communication strategies
  • Provide leadership and supervision to assigned staff members and student workers


What You'll Bring:

  • Four years of related professional experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 1-2 years of direct experience working with on-campus football recruiting operations
  • Strong organizational, communication, and event management skills
  • A collaborative mindset and commitment to inclusive excellence
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment

Minimum Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's degree required, master's degree preferred.



Experience

Requires the ability to manage operational and administrative activities related to the athletics industry, generally acquired through three years of experience in athletics operations, running an athletics department, and/or operations management at a high corporate level. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Anticipated Pay Range: Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $68,970.00 to USD $127,008.00. Duke University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position; candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills; internal peer equity; as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
