Salary Range: $26-$30 Per Hour

SUMMARY: General Maintenance workers are responsible for inspecting and identifying equipment or machines in need of repair, troubleshooting electrical issues to determine necessary repairs, and performing general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. This includes tasks like repairing drywall, painting, fixing doors, and maintaining building systems. Workers will perform routine maintenance on equipment, patch minor holes in walls, repair or replace sinks and toilets, paint structures, and replace damaged flooring.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Inspect and identify equipment or machines in need of repair.

- Troubleshoot issues to determine necessary repairs.

- Perform general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings.

- Replaces electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors.

- Uses minor plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceiling.

- Repairs or replaces sinks, water coolers, and toilets.

- Paints structures and equipment.

- Replaces or repairs concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks.

- Carry out janitorial duties, including cleaning, dusting, mopping, and maintaining the facility

- Hangs doors, installs door locks, and replaces broken window panes.

- Perform groundskeeping, landscaping, and exterior maintenance when required.

- Performs general maintenance on equipment and machinery.

- Inspect buildings and equipment for needed maintenance or repairs.

- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

* This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

* High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

* Computer skills required: Basic computer skills

* Mechanical Aptitude

* Applied analytical skills to recognize when a specialized trade is needed for various tasks

* Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

* Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.

* Strong troubleshooting abilities

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

* Frequently required to stand

* Frequently required to walk

* Occasionally required to sit

* Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity

* Frequently required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, or crawl

* Continually required to talk or hear

* Occasionally required to taste or smell

* Occasionally work near moving mechanical parts

* Occasionally work in high, precarious places

* Occasionally around fumes, airborne particles, or toxic chemicals

* Occasionally exposure to outside weather conditions

* While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate

* The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

* Specific vision abilities required by this job include: Close vision; Distance vision; Color vision; Peripheral vision; Depth perception and ability to adjust focus
