The Clinical Instructor provides hands-on supervision, professional guidance, and real time instruction to students participating in clinical rotations for the Nurse Aide Program. Phlebotomy Technician Certification Program, and other emerging pathways. This position serves as the onsite educational leader, ensuring students apply classroom knowledge safely and effectively while developing clinical competence, confidence, and professionalism. The Clinical Instructor upholds program standards, maintains regulatory compliance, and fosters strong relationships with clinical partners.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: 1. Associate's degree required. 2. RN license: Current Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which services will be provided or current multi-state Registered Nurse license through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC). 3. Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date. 4. Certification as an instructor issued by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) must be obtained within six (6) months of hire. To be completed as established by department: (Administered at Department level): Obtains WV Train the Trainer Certificate within 6 months of hire EXPERIENCE: Minimum oftwo (2) years clinical experience required, including one to two years in long term care or geriatric nursing (requirements may vary by state or regulatory entity). PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: 1. Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Education, Healthcare Administration, Workforce Development, or related field preferred. EXPERIENCE: 1. Completion of a course focused on teaching adult learners or equivalent experience teaching adult students or supervising nurse aides strongly preferred. 2. Strong understanding of healthcare training programs, clinical education environments, and regulatory requirements. Supervise, guide, and mentor students during clinical rotations in longterm care, hospital, laboratory, and outpatient settings, ensuring safe and effective application of skills. 2. Provide direct observation, realtime feedback, skills coaching, and performance evaluation throughout clinical experiences. 3. Support students in integrating theoretical knowledge with handson practice, ensuring competency in core skills for the Nurse Aide, Phlebotomy programs, and other emerging pathways. 4. Conduct daily rounding in patient and resident care areas and ensure student engagement aligns with professionalism, safety standards, and facility expectations. 5. Maintain continuous communication with Program Instructors and Workforce Development leadership regarding student progress, concerns, and clinical site effectiveness. 6. Collaborate with clinical partners, including unit managers, laboratory staff, and nursing leadership, to ensure student activities support facility goals and maintain positive relationships. rient students to each clinical site, including workflows, safety policies, confidentiality expectations, and facility procedures.
