Summary:

The Custodial Floor Care Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all floor maintenance operations within assigned facilities. This role ensures high standards of cleanliness, safety, and appearance of flooring surfaces. The supervisor ensures proper use of equipment and chemicals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Supervise and coordinate daily floor care operations (stripping, waxing, buffing, carpet cleaning, etc.)
  • Train custodial staff on proper floor care techniques, safety procedures, and equipment usage
  • Inspect work to ensure quality standards are consistently met
  • Develop and manage floor maintenance schedules
  • Operate and maintain floor care equipment (buffers, burnishers, extractors, scrubbers)
  • Monitor inventory of supplies and request replenishments as needed
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and OSHA standards
  • Respond to emergency cleaning or spill situations as needed
  • Maintain documentation of work performed and equipment maintenance

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND LICENSURE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
  • 2-5 years of custodial or floor care experience
  • Previous supervisory or team lead experience preferred
  • Knowledge of floor care techniques, materials, and chemicals
  • Ability to operate industrial cleaning equipment
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skillsBasic computer skills for scheduling and reporting
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards

Work is performed indoors with some potential risks to safety and health hazards.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:


Must be able to lift/carry 50 pounds, push/pull 50 pounds, stand, sit, bend, kneel and walk for extended periods.

Must be able to perform routine, repetitive tasks continuously.

Must be able to work around food and cleaning products

WORK AUTHORIZATION/SECURITY CLEARANCE:


DoD Secret or higher security clearance, or the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS:

As a condition of employment, must pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results.
