Description

Essential Responsibilities:



  • Lead all site-level EHS initiatives in accordance with OSHA, EPA, TCEQ, and other applicable regulatory agencies.
  • Manage and continuously improve the facility's Safety Program, including training, audits, job hazard analyses (JHAs), and incident investigations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for environmental compliance activities including hazardous waste, stormwater, and wastewater management.
  • Monitor and manage the facility's industrial wastewater system, including compliance reporting, sampling schedules, and coordination with municipal water authorities.
  • Conduct environmental inspections and ensure proper storage, labeling, and disposal of hazardous materials and waste.
  • Maintain EHS records, permits, and documentation required for regulatory compliance and internal audits.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and HR to ensure safe work practices and employee accountability.
  • Manage safety committees, lead monthly meetings, and support behavior-based safety (BBS) programs.
  • Develop and deliver training related to safety, environmental compliance, emergency response, lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space, PPE, and other EHS topics.
  • Lead emergency preparedness planning, including fire drills and spill response procedures.
  • Track and report EHS metrics (TRIR, DART, near misses, etc.) and develop actionable plans to improve performance.


Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment, preferably in forging or metalworking.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and TCEQ regulations, particularly related to industrial wastewater and air permitting.
  • Proven experience with wastewater system operations and environmental sampling/reporting.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and EHS management software.
