Responsibilities

  • Constant heavy lifting required (up to 40 lbs.)
  • Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records
  • Assemble wooden or cardboard containers
  • Prepares skid shipments for transit
  • Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage
  • Stamps, stencils, or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers
  • Verifies shipments meet customers specifications
  • Maintains packaging materials inventory and organization, as needed
  • Stocks and pulls outsourcing materials, as needed
  • Weights, counts, and packs finished parts/compounds
  • Labels, inventories, organizes, and moves materials, as needed
  • Assists in all aspects of shipping
  • Cycle Counting
  • Operates forklift daily
  • Performs as a floater throughout the facility, as needed
  • Maintain good housekeeping
  • Other duties, as assigned

Qualifications

  • Prefer shipping experience
  • Prefer forklift certification OR must be forklift certified within first 90 days of start date
  • Good computer skills
  • Knowledge of transportation functions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be detail-oriented and have ability to multi-task
  • Must be able to perform heavy lifting constantly and stand for long periods of time
  • Capable of performing basic math functions
  • Must have legible handwriting and good comprehension skills
  • Must be able to work flexible hours
  • Must have a history of good customer service and communication skills
