MRI Technologist - MRI Potential Opportunity

Minneapolis VA Health Care System (MVAHCS)
Onsite | Minneapolis, MN
Full-Time | Variable Shifts (Days / Evenings / Weekends)

Opportunity Overview

The Minneapolis VA Health Care System (MVAHCS) is seeking ARRTcertified Diagnostic Radiologic Technologists (MRI) for an onsite contract role supporting Veterans through highquality diagnostic imaging services.

This is an MRI Potential opportunity, ideal for technologists looking to expand or further develop MRI experience within a nationally recognized federal healthcare system.

Key Responsibilities
    Perform MRI procedures in accordance with VA imaging protocols and national standards
  • Operate MRI and related imaging equipment safely and effectively
  • Prepare, position, and educate patients prior to procedures
  • Ensure image quality and patient safety at all times
  • Document exams in the VA Electronic Health Record (CPRS) and PACS
  • Collaborate with Radiologists and Imaging staff on protocols and nonstandard exams
  • Adhere to all VA policies related to privacy, infection control, safety, and conduct
  • Participate in staff huddles, meetings, and quality assurance activities as required

Estimated 95% direct patient care.

Schedule & Coverage
  • 24/7 facility operations
  • MRI services include day, evening, weekend shifts, and call
  • Variable scheduling based on patient care needs
  • Overtime paid when procedures extend beyond scheduled shift (preapproved)

Required Qualifications

ARRT Certification - R.T. (MR)
Certification must be current, full, and unrestricted
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently
Proven technical proficiency in MRI procedures
Willingness to complete VA credentialing, privileging, and mandatory training
