Description

The Human Resources Intern provides administrative and project support to the Human Resources department while gaining hands-on experience across core HR functions, including HR operations, compliance, talent acquisition, and HR systems.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:



  • Assists with electronic documentation and records management projects in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and other secure platforms.
  • Supports the maintenance and organization of employee records by auditing data to ensure accuracy and compliance with recordkeeping requirements.
  • Formats, updates, and standardize job descriptions, policies, and other HR documentation to ensure consistency across platforms; archive prior versions and coordinates updates within the HRIS.
  • Provides support to the recruiting function by assisting with candidate screening activities, resume reviews, interview scheduling, and system updates.
  • Assists with onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Helps prepare and distribute employee communications related to HR programs, policies, and initiatives.
  • Supports data entry and basic reporting requests related to HR metrics, compliance tracking, or audits.
  • Participates in special projects related to HR operations, process improvement, employee engagement, or compliance, as assigned.
  • Maintains confidentiality and always handles sensitive information with professionalism.
  • Other duties as needed or assigned.


SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:



  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing positively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, discretion, and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
  • Willingness to learn HR best practices, systems, and compliance requirements.
  • Basic familiarity with HR concepts, HRIS platforms, or applicant tracking systems is a plus, but not required.


MINIMUM LEVEL OF PREPARATION AND TRAINING NORMALLY REQUIRED:



  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in Business Administration or related field.
  • Rising junior or senior status preferred.
  • Interest in pursuing a career in Human Resources or a related business function.
