Responsibilities

Let your career take flight! We are hiring a Production Planner in our Winsted, CT location.

SUMMARY

Develops schedules establishing sequence and timeframe of manufacturing operations in order to meet production requirements. Reviews orders, shipping needs, plant capacity, and inventory before drawing up schedules. Set up operational series to guide production work.

  • Relationship and communication--interacts with a wide variety of stakeholders; acts as liaison between customer and plant; facilitates understanding of customer priorities within the plant; galvanizes efforts to ensure goals are achieved.
  • Organization and structure--detail and follow through oriented; manages and monitors inventory and information accurately; adjusts "behind the scenes" without causing visible disruption to customers; creates replicable processes and systems in response to emerging issues or opportunities; time conscious
  • Ownership--tracks down information, people, requirements, or other necessary elements to ensure smooth operation with quality and speed; enables the success of others; advances a "win together" perspective and culture; driven
  • Balanced attention--spends time in areas of greatest impact; asks "why?"; adjusts to customer demands and coordinates internal resources to deliver, often on short notice; creates plans to get things back on track when necessary; works closely with internal resources to align solutions
  • Influence--persuades without direct reporting authority; represents interests and capabilities of plant to customers to control expectations and flow; can deliver disappointing news; broadens perspective of others; gains commitment from internal and external stakeholders

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Daily communication with Production Leaders regarding product flow to and from their Cells.

Elevation of all situations relating to casting availability, internal and external processes, and product quality that place communicated customer deliveries in jeopardy.

Assume responsibility to insure Manufacturing System(s) accurately reflect the reporting of inventory for all relevant locations within FG, WIP, RAW, Crib Storage.

Communication to Cell Leaders, Production Leaders, Casting Coordinator and Out Plant Coordinator of any production issues that impact schedule expectations.

Communication of delivery commitments to customer and liaison with sales representatives.

Interface with Shipping Department to coordinate movement of finished product from Winsted and Out Plant facilities to customer site to insure on time delivery as measured by customer.

Maintain accurate documentation as to the inventory levels residing at each operation step within the product router sequences (internal and external) - perpetual inventory management.

Develop production forecast that supports financial and business objectives.

Coordinate all customer demand changes with Sales and Casting Plants.

Process Purchase Order and Requisition following Processes and Procedures.

Perform Physical Inventory following Processes and Procedures.

Complete Shipping and Receiving Process documentation along with outplant & drop ship activities.

Follow policies and procedures as outlined in Employee Handbook.

Perform all other job duties as assigned.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS



  • High School diploma required.
  • Associate or bachelor's degree preferred
  • APIC certification preferred - Supply chain management certified
  • Stong Excel skills
  • Oracle preferred
