The primary location of this position is on-site in Cullowhee, NC.

This temporary hourly position supports the University's fleet maintenance operations by performing routine servicing and repair work on University and State Motor Fleet vehicles. The position is responsible for daily motor pool servicing - preparing sedans, vans, and buses for use by faculty and staff - as well as performing maintenance and repair on a range of university vehicular equipment including passenger vehicles, service vans, and light to medium equipment. The position also assists with identifying and ordering parts needed for repairs in accordance with departmental procurement procedures. The expectation is that the selected candidate will work with general oversight initially and transition to independent operation within approximately 30 days.

Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position
Working knowledge of automotive maintenance and repair is required. The ability to diagnose common mechanical issues, perform routine servicing, and follow manufacturer guidelines and shop safety procedures is expected. Must be able to follow oral and written instructions, maintain a customer service orientation, and manage multiple work priorities with minimal supervision. Prior experience with fleet or motor pool operations is preferred but not required for a motivated candidate with solid foundational skills.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.

Must have a valid NC Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in fleet, automotive, or equipment maintenance preferred.
