Description Join a small, dedicated team focused on building the Carolinas' first freestanding Children's Hospital. Summary: North Carolina Children's, a new children's health system in North Carolina, will be the state's only academic health system dedicated solely to caring for kids. The Manager Stewardship provides leadership, planning, implementation and management of a centralized program of strategic, timely and effective stewardship to grow philanthropic support to advance North Carolina Children's (NCC). Through initiatives and activities designed to strengthen engagement with major donors, prospects, and leadership volunteers, the Mgr assists in attracting significant support for NCC's fundraising mission. The Manager promotes giving by publicly recognizing donors and the impact of their giving; delivers creative solutions for advancing donor stewardship and cultivation and provides consultation to NCC leadership as needed on strategies for donor stewardship and activities to be implemented by the entities themselves. Responsibilities: Cultivates relationships and engagement with major donors to attract significant gifts by informing donors on the use and impact of their gifts to NCC. Manages and coordinates the endowment stewardship reporting process including the design and printing of annual reporting templates, financial reports, custom impact summaries and other collateral materials and correspondence. Devise processes and guidelines for inclusion of funds and contacts, research of annual fund use, tracking, donor feedback and return on investment. Develop impacting reporting for current use funds for designated group of donors/funds across NCC. Maintain inventory of funds and tracking information, maintain stewardship in annual reports, donors and funds. Oversees the NCC gift acknowledgement process, develops guidelines and evaluates against best practices nationally. Manage and produce prompt, consistent and accurate gift and pledge acknowledgement letters for NCC, and other related correspondence. Support due diligence and accountability systems that track philanthropic effectiveness, donor due diligence, and operational integrity. Maintain high standards for data integrity and donor confidentiality. Assist in the development, maintenance, and optimization of NCC's new donor database (CRM). Help implement best practices in data entry, coding, reporting, and donor record management. Support the buildout of new processes, tools, and integrations as the development program grows. Annually update acknowledgement templates including design/branding and fundraising and campaign priorities. Develops and manages the coordination of custom stewardship pieces to inspire and recognize leading gifts, and providing donors with meaningful opportunities for engagement with NCC. Support the Assistant Vice President - Development in developing multi-year plans for stewardship initiatives to advance goals and assist with donor retention, recognition of current giving and encouragement of future philanthropic support. Makes recommendations, initiates and manages customized stewardship opportunities/plans to engage donors with print and digital communication, engagement, events, recognition and special opportunities visits, calls, and special reporting partnering with development officers, faculty and development colleagues across campus. With Foundation leadership and staff, develops an inventory of unique experiences, including tours and activities for prospects and major and principal gift donors. Assists in the research and coordination of recognition gifts and activities for donors/volunteers who have demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to the UNC School of Medicine and UNC Health. Coordinates with the President of the NCC Foundation on proposals for facility naming opportunities. Establish and maintains an inventory of naming opportunities and named rooms/spaces for NCC. Manages the update and maintenance of NCC Foundation donor recognition displays for annual, lifetime and planned gift donors, including future physical recognition projects.
Qualifications
Education Requirements: * Bachelor's degree required.
Licensure/Certification Requirements: * None required.
Professional Experience Requirements: * Requires four (4) years of experience in stewardship/donor relations or closely related field such as marketing, fundraising, or special events. * Prefer prior medical school or medical center experience. * Prefer experience with program design and management. Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements: * Strong verbal and written communications skills. * Excellent organizational and research skills. * Excellent interpersonal skills and judgment, including tact and discretion. * Attention to detail and accuracy. * Ability to analyze and initiate programs; creativity, and problem-solving capabilities with ability to independently manage multiple tasks, projects and deadlines.
