Title: Senior Lecturer II Executive Area: Academic Affairs College/School/MBU: Humanities & Fine Arts Department: History Work Location: Amherst Schedule: Full Time Work Arrangement: Onsite Job Summary The Department of History is accepting applications for a full-time non-tenure track position at the rank of Senior Lecturer II. This is a fully benefited position with an initial appointment for two years and eligibility for reappointment. The position will have a 3-3 teaching load and various service obligations to the Department as detailed below. Essential Functions The successful candidate will support the Department of History's undergraduate teaching mission, which may include any or all of the following activities as determined by departmental need: teaching required methods courses (Hist 275, IEs, Junior Year Writing (JYW); leading curriculum review; consistently offering History 264 (History of Health Care and Medicine); serving as the Undergraduate Program Director (UPD) in rotation with other faculty; providing other assigned service in support of the undergraduate teaching mission. Minimum Qualifications PhD in hand at time of application. Preferred Qualifications Expertise in history of sciences, mathematics and medicine highly desired. Additional Details This is a 100%FTE benefited position with an initial appointment of two years which may be renewed. Working Conditions Work is performed in a standard office or indoor university environment and involves minimal physical exertion. Work Schedule and Work Arrangement 40 hours per week/Flexible Salary Information The University of Massachusetts Amherst expects to pay within an approximate range between $79,350 and $97,216 for this position.
