Summary: The Corrosion Supervisor- Operations will oversee all Corrosion Techs for the Region as well as ensure we comply with all state and federal requirements as related to corrosion and pipeline requirements. This position will also ensure we follow all SOPs as well as any other best practices as associated. This position will also adhere to all company policies and procedures and will operate within the respective budget set forth by the area and the company. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain & operate cathodic protection systems
- Collects information to aid in the design of cathodic protection systems
- Responsible for monitoring business activity and requesting overtime if necessary
- Willing to provide constructive criticism and coaching opportunities when they present themselves
- Identifies and correct basic and routine problems in cathodic protection systems
- Interact with and helps to build positive relationships with regulatory auditors
- Completes and maintain accurate records and reports to comply with Company and regulatory requirements
- Responsible for safe operation and inspection of assigned Company vehicles and equipment
- Demonstrates support for and adheres to Company values, Safety and Company's Code of Conduct as an individual contributor and team member
- Subject to reporting outside regular work area
- Requires knowledge of Proactive, GForm and SAP
- Manage personnel where needed and schedule assignments when needed
- Manage budget items and stay within budget
- Requires the ability to communicate with internal/external individuals
- Work requires working in all types of weather and may be exposed to extremes of climate and temperatures, high noise levels, rough terrain etc
- Must become familiar with the contents of the Safety Manual, live by its contents and must complete all safety training
- Schedule coupon pulls on a bi-annual basis or as needed and review
- Assist Reports and operation as needed
- Weekly reports to Managers once per week
- Plans, organize, coordinate and supervise the daily Corrosion activities
- Plans organize and coordinate CI Surveys, AC/VG and DC/VG Surveys
- Review and monitor CIS reports to make sure the contractor and Tech are following our standards
- After the final CIS report comes in, review with the Corrosion Tech and Manager if needed
- Create Bid Packets for recoats, ground beds and other projects that are up for bid
- Coordinate recoat and ground bed projects
- Coordinate quarterly meeting with the Techs and the chemical provider
- Communicate daily with reports workload and schedule
- Monitor and review ProActive data of all reports. Develop schedule to review and communicate with Tech's. Verify data is correct and complete communicate any findings of incorrect or missing data
- Have Tech's available for integrity and any pipeline excavations. Make sure Gform are complete for as many digs as possible and put in data base. Be involved with integrity and operations pre dig meetings to be able to schedule Tech's to be on site
- Help Build and prepare for any Agency audits as it relates to corrosion. I.e. RRC and PHMSA
- Communicate with all required support groups, DTO, Other Operating Areas, Corrosion Specialists
Requirements:
Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:
- HS Diploma or Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- 8+ years of experience in corrosion control and energy pipeline context.
- Current or previous NACE certifications in cathodic protection and internal corrosion required.
- Financial experience in budgeting, forecasting, and interpreting administrative reports.
- Previous supervisory and/or managerial experience.
- The preferred candidate possesses excellent oral and written communication skills. Highly developed ability with PC's, office computer software (Excel, Word, Power Point) and corrosion related data and data management systems (Proactive and PCS) is required.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a safe driving record.
- Required to carry a cell phone, and subject to 24/7 call out.
- Incumbent is subject working extended hours required in emergencies, on projects, or outages.
- Subject to hazardous conditions including escaping gas, adverse weather conditions and temperatures, heights, high-pressure gas, heavy lifting and cramped conditions.

- Position may be subject to applicable U.S. Department of Transportation Drug & Alcohol regulations.
- The incumbent may be required to learn duties associated with one or more specific areas of the operation depending on the operational need and the employee's demonstrated abilities.
- This position may require some travel for temporary assignments, meetings, and training.
- The job may also involve participating on occasional unscheduled callouts and extended workdays and/or workweeks.

- Usually, normal office working conditions.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
- Occasional overnight travel may be required.
- Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
