Knife River is seeking a Quality Control Technician in Magna, UT! This position would be responsible for performing standardized tests on construction materials such as aggregate and asphalt following ASTM, AASHTO, and DOT procedures, conducting various field tests, accurately recording and reporting results, maintaining equipment, and adhering to safety protocols while representing the QC team professionally.

Key Responsibilities:

* Performing standardized tests on aggregate, asphalt, and concrete in accordance with ASTM, AASHTO, and state DOT procedures

* Conduct field density tests, moisture testing, gradations, asphalt content tests, concrete strength tests, and other routine QC procedures

* Accurately record, log, and report test results in a timely manner

* Communicate test results and quality concerns to supervisors, project managers, and production staff

* Maintain testing equipment, tools, and calibration records

* Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment

* Represent the QC team professionally when interacting with internal teams, contractors, and inspectors

This position requires the availability to work up to 7 days per week as well as varied and extended hours. You may be required totravel out of town for short periods of time.

Qualifications:

* Preferred but not required: relevant construction material testing certifications (e.g., WAQTC or other state-specific technician certifications).

* If not already certified, technician will be required to pass written and practical exams to attain certifications for WAQTC or other agency certifications.

* Proficiency with basic math including: unit conversions, percentages, and calculating material properties

* Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

* Must possess a valid driver's license
