Exciting Opportunity at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center: Join the Joao Xavier Lab as a Research Technician!

The Xavier Lab integrates computational modeling with experimental biology to understand how interactions between cells drive complex behaviors in systems like the tumor microenvironment, microbiome, and pathogenic bacteria. You would contribute to uncovering fundamental principles of how tumors grow and interact with their surroundings, helping to develop predictive models and innovative therapeutic strategies that could transform cancer treatment.

Role Overview:

• Laboratory Support: Prepare and maintain lab equipment, instruments, solutions, stains, assays, and other essential supplies.
• Techniques & Assays: Perform specialized techniques, such as bacterial and cell culture, qPCR, western blot, ELISA, CRISPR etc.
• Animal Handling: Conduct animal studies, including injections, tissue/fluids collection, and animal autopsies.
• Data Management: Record and analyze research data, prepare reports, and provide insights to the research team.
• Collaboration: Assist peers and researchers with ongoing projects, fostering a team-oriented, supportive environment.

Key Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in biology/life sciences.
• Basic laboratory skills; experience with bacterial and cell culture, wester blotting, qPCR, ELISA, CRISPR or IH staining.
• Comfort working with mouse models isrequiredfor this role.

• Location: NYC; Rockefeller Research Center
• Schedule: Onsite, Monday to Friday 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
