THE POSITION

We are seeking a Facility Operations Supervisor with great organizational and leadership proficiency to perform skilled and supervisory tasks at Loysville Youth Development Center. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Facility Operations Supervisor, you will supervise skilled and technical staff in the building and grounds maintenance program. You will work with a variety of journey-level trades professionals performing custodial work, groundskeeping, physical plant maintenance, utility plant operation, water treatment, and vehicle maintenance operations. You will also direct the operation of the facility's low pressure boiler plant, inspect buildings and grounds for emergency repairs, prepare sketches, read blueprints, and requisition materials necessary to complete projects. This role requires solid practical knowledge to ensure uninterrupted operations and maintain equipment longevity. In addition, you will maintain employee records, attend asbestos awareness training, and visit various facilities and vendors to obtain or deliver materials.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Your schedule may change based on operational needs.
  • Overtime and travel as needed

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of skilled trades work experience in commercial, industrial, multi-unit residential facilities, or utility plant operations; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements:

  • You must be in possession of an active motor vehicle license.

Other Requirements:

  • You must obtain an asbestos license within six months of employment at the employer's expense.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • A conditional offer of employment will require medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
