Job Summary

This position provides technical support of assigned clinical and/or financial applications aligned with UC Davis Health goals. This position is responsible for life cycle management of clinical and/or financial applications supported by IT and will oversee day to day operations as well as project support for these applications.

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in health sciences, information technology, computer science, or related area; and/or equivalent combination of experience/training.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of clinical and/or financial practices and principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to gather information from multiple sources and analyze applicability and appropriateness.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop workflows and integrate technology into clinical, financial or operational workflows.
  • Proficient in office automation software (word processing, spreadsheets, visual presentation, etc.).
  • Demonstrates interpersonal, communication, leadership and change management skills to establish and maintain positive and productive working relationships.

  • Experience supporting clinical information systems in a healthcare environment, preferably in laboratory or pathology operations.
  • Experience supporting digital pathology or anatomic pathology systems, including whole slide imaging platforms or pathology imaging workflows.
  • Experience working with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) such as Epic Beaker AP/CP or similar systems.
  • Experience supporting interfaces and integrations between clinical systems, including LIS, imaging platforms, and enterprise EHR systems.
  • Experience participating in clinical system implementations, upgrades, testing, and go-live support.
  • Experience troubleshooting clinical application issues and collaborating with infrastructure, network, or vendor teams to resolve system problems.
  • Experience supporting interfaced or integrated multi-vendor clinical applications, and digital pathology systems in a healthcare environment.
  • Experience supporting the analysis, build, implementation, and ongoing support of healthcare information systems, devices, workstations, equipment, and clinical workflows.
  • Experience working with clinical information system teams on medium to large system implementations, upgrades, or application development initiatives.
  • Experience supporting integration of applications and devices with EHR systems using industry standards such as HL7, TCP/IP, FTP, or ASTM.
  • Working knowledge of integrating medical devices, digital pathology systems, whole slide scanners, and lab analyzers with clinical applications, including laboratory workflows and real-time data transmission.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand clinical and operational workflows and translate user requirements into system configuration, workflow improvements, support documentation, or training materials.
  • Working knowledge of clinical laboratory and/or pathology information systems, including system configuration, testing, implementation, and user support.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze moderately complex issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional clinical and IT teams to support system implementations and operational improvements.

Work Environment
