Salary | $45,000 - $63,000

Schedule | 8 AM - 5 PM : Monday - Friday

Key Responsibilities:



  • Collect, review, and verify employee timesheets from field crews and office staff.
  • Cross-check timesheets against GPS data to confirm accurate job site reporting and hours worked.
  • Code employee time by job, cost codes, and Workers' Compensation (WC) classifications.
  • Assign and manage appropriate pay IDs (regular, overtime, travel, etc.).
  • Accurately enter and process payroll in Sage Software, ensuring proper job costing allocation.
  • Maintain up-to-date payroll records for multiple job sites and crews.
  • Calculate, file, and remit all payroll taxes, including:

    • Weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual filings
    • Federal, state, and local tax compliance
    • Administer employee benefits programs, including: Health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) retirement plans, and Company savings programs (e.g., Christmas fund).


  • Manage company-issued phones for field employees, including setup, tracking, and troubleshooting.
  • Assist with certified payroll reporting if required (Davis-Bacon or prevailing wage projects).
  • Support audits by maintaining accurate payroll, tax, and benefits documentation.


Qualifications:



  • Experience in construction payroll or similar industry with job costing
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processing, including multi-rate and multi-job environments
  • Proficiency in Sage Software (Sage 100 Contractor, Sage 300, or similar preferred)
  • Solid Excel skills for tracking, reconciliation, and reporting
  • Understanding of Workers' Compensation codes and labor classifications
  • Familiarity with GPS/time tracking systems used in field operations
  • Knowledge of payroll tax regulations and compliance


Preferred Skills:



  • Experience with certified payroll and prevailing wage requirements
  • Ability to manage payroll for multiple crews and job sites simultaneously
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify discrepancies quickly
