About the Job

The ATP-Bio Program Specialist plays a critical role in advancing ATP-Bio's initiatives in research, workforce development, innovation, and ethics. This role directly supports ATP-Bio's mission to drive transformative discoveries and facilitate the ethical translation of technologies for the preservation and distribution of biological systems, benefiting healthcare, biodiversity, and sustainability. As a member of the ATP-Bio Cross-Functional Pillar team, the Program Specialist reports programmatically to the Cross-Functional Team Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Development & Implementation (60%)
Plan, implement, and manage ATP-Bio programs and initiatives to ensure alignment with the Center's mission and goals.
Identify and pursue opportunities to expand program delivery and increase accessibility.
Collaborate with institutional and community partners to strengthen programming.
Coordinate events, including logistical planning and on-site management.
Represent ATP-Bio at conferences, recruitment fairs, and community events.
Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders and partner organizations.
Support major events such as the annual meeting and NSF site visits.

Tracking, Monitoring & Documentation (30%)
Track program outcomes and assess impact in collaboration with external evaluators.
Prepare content for communications, reports, and promotional materials.
Review and update program policies and procedures.
Develop systems to improve program efficiency and effectiveness.

Administrative & Operations (10%)
Contribute to reporting requirements for annual and project-based deliverables.
Develop presentations and reports highlighting program achievements.
Support the refinement of operational policies to strengthen organizational effectiveness.

Key Programs & Initiatives

Educational Outreach Materials
Lead the development of 6-10 cryopreservation-focused education modules for K-12 audiences. Modules will include facilitator guides, materials lists, and student worksheets for use in formal and informal STEM settings.

Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) Program
Manage the summer REU program hosting approximately 10 students annually. Responsibilities include application review, participant selection, program logistics, and professional development planning.

Supervision:
The Program Specialist will report directly to the ATP-Bio Cross-Functional Team Project Manager and receive programmatic oversight from the Center Leadership and Pillar Directors. This position will work within a matrix structure, collaborating with multiple teams across the center.

This position is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field, with at least 2 years of relevant experience in program management, education, outreach, or diversity initiatives OR combination of education and experience to equal 6 years.
Demonstrated ability to manage events, educational programs, and community outreach efforts.
Flexibility in work hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by program schedules.
Strong oral and written communication skills, with experience creating clear, engaging content for various audiences.
Ability to travel approximately 5% of the time for events and meetings.

Preferred:
Related master's degree with proven ability to perform job
Experience working in STEM fields, particularly in programs focused on education, outreach, and expanding participation.
Familiarity with designing and delivering capacity-building or technical programs that enhance skills and knowledge.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $28.84 - $31.25 per hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience

Time Appointment: 50% Appointment
