We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to support a residential building offering in-unit service. This is a hands-on, independent role where you will be the sole maintenance professional on-site, responsible for a wide range of repairs and upkeep. The ideal candidate is personable, proactive, and experienced in general maintenance, plumbing, and light electrical work. Responsibilities:
- Perform in-unit maintenance and repairs including plumbing, electrical, and general handyman tasks
- Troubleshoot and repair leaks, fixtures, and appliances
- Maintain and repair boilers, chillers, and convector systems (general knowledge required)
- Complete drywall repairs, painting, and minor carpentry work
- Replace window screens and maintain window tracks
- Safely work in a building environment where asbestos is present (must follow proper protocols)
- Provide excellent customer service to residents and respond to service requests in a timely manner
- Faucet replacement and leak repairs (traps, joints, gaskets)
- Cabinet adjustments and drawer repairs
- Replacement of light bulbs and appliance lights (stove/refrigerator)
- GFCI outlet replacement
- Faucet, shower head, and tub spout repair/replacement
- Toilet repairs (running water, flushing issues, clogs, flapper, wax seal replacement)
- Caulking sinks and bathtubs
- Repair leaks under sinks
- Replace towel bars, toilet paper holders, shower rods, and toilet seats
- Closet, bi-fold, and interior door repairs (tracks, supports, alignment, trimming for carpet clearance)
- Replace or adjust door hardware and knobs
- Light fixture repair and replacement
- Replace switches, dimmers, and electrical outlets
- Address squeaky doors and locks
- Install door sweeps and replace closer rods
- Clean window tracks and perform window rescreening
- Hang pictures/mirrors (based on size and weight)
