Role overview
The Associated Press is seeking a PM engagement editor to drive how our journalism reaches audiences during one of the most crucial parts of the news day.
This is a role built on speed,judgmentand execution. You willbe responsible formaking fast,high-stakescalls about how AP journalism is presented,prioritizedand distributed across platforms.
At the same time, this is not a passive curation role. You are expected to spot opportunities in real time - stories that deserve more prominence, angles that can be sharpened, coverage that can go further - and work with editors and reporters to elevate them.
Schedule and location
This role is aligned with U.S. evening hours and includes regular evening and weekend shifts.
Employees who are based near an AP office and work standard business days are expected to be in the office on Tuesdays,Wednesdaysand Thursdays.

This position is covered by The Associated Press' contract with the News Media Guild, whichprovides foran annual salary for Class A staff of between $53,477 and $85,214 based on location and years of professional experience.Compensation iscontingenton a job candidate's skills,qualificationsand market location. Employees are eligible toparticipate, according to the terms of the official plan documents, in a 401(k) plan and employer-sponsored health insuranceplan, andare eligible for paid time off and holidaysin accordance withAP policy.
