Job Designation

The Custodian/Facilities Maintenance performs miscellaneous manual labor and janitorial activities required for daily upkeep of the facility's buildings and grounds, while following well-defined instructions. Facilities Maintenance will provide assistance to team members in the completion of various tasks and day-to-day maintenance duties as required while supporting the safety and the utilization of Meggitt facilities through ongoing inspection and maintenance. This position will also have dotted a line responsibility to the Human Resource Dept.

Job Core Responsibilities

  • Performs daily routine cleaning and waste removal service for Meggitt facilities throughout areas including office, break areas, restrooms, conference rooms and shop floor as necessary
  • Utilize and maintain equipment required to maintain all areas of facility.
  • Works with Maintenance Supervision to identify and plan maintenance tasks related to facility upkeep.
  • Performs basic lawn care and landscaping repairs as needed.
  • Performs minor carpentry, electrical, plumbing and painting as needed to maintain facilities.
  • Maintains a safe and effective work area/environment with the use of appropriate personal protective and safety equipment.
  • Ensures adequate stock of paper goods and cleaning supplies/equipment; receiving and stocking items as needed. (10%)
  • Supports the Facilities Function as needed.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work additional hours as necessary.

Education:

High School Diploma

Previous experience and/or training:

2-4 years of relevant experience

Skills:

  • Ability to operate routine cleaning equipment.

  • Practical communication skills and common courtesy.

  • Capable of operating within structured/supervised environment and follow written and oral instructions with little supervision.
