Position Summary

Creates a level loaded, feasible production plan for manufacturing at the material level that satisfies customer demand for the assigned portfolio of parts (MRP controllers). Incorporates the master schedule provided by Operation Planning to develop a firm production schedule utilizing the tools and functionality of the SAP PP module.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to train, mentor, and develop Production Specialist within the division.
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the division for SAP ERP knowledge, external audit, order creation/release, capacity analysis/level loading, maintenance of MPS, MRP exception management, RCCA & analysis of missed deliveries, top sheet maintenance, and material shortage ID and process.
  • Participate in external and internal audits of the Supply Chain function.
  • Served as the primary interface with plant operations and manages all activities related to planning, inventory, delivery, and lead time.
  • Maintain scheduling parameters such as MRP type, planning time fence, lot size strategy and quantities, takt times, safety stocks, and coverage profiles.
  • Monitor schedule adherence and expedite or escalate with Operations and/or Procurement teams as necessary to maintain expected service levels.
  • Review and execute MRP exception messages.
  • Create and/or release production orders.
  • Communicate with Customer Services and sometimes directly with customers on deviations from the expected customer stock date.
  • Utilize business tools such as SAP and Business Intelligence (BI) to perform job responsibilities.
  • Demonstrate sufficient level of initiatives to meet or exceed performance against key performance indicators (KPI's) such as on-time delivery to customers, inventory, MRP exceptions, and demonstrate initiatives to continuously improve performance against these KPI's
  • Minimal travel is required but expected as needed.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 4+ years of relevant experience in production leadership, planning, purchasing, or a relevant supply chain function.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain or related field

Preferred Certifications:

  • ASMC (formerly APICS)
  • CPIM
  • CSCP
