Position Summary

The incumbent is accountable for planning, organizing, assisting, and directing the activities of production process areas to provide quality finished goods on time to customer requests while ensuring optimum utilization of assigned materials, capital, and labor resources to achieve objectives.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities

  • Promoting a safety-first workplace, encouraging the identification of opportunities for improvement related to process and/or equipment.

  • Interpreting specifications and blueprints to ensure product is being produced to customer requirements.

  • Be an equal partner with production manufacturing engineering, production quality engineering, and new product introduction teams working together to identify and solve issues that arise during day-to-day operations.

  • Complete daily Gemba walks to engage with team members, review day-by-hour, identify improvement opportunities, and follow up with team members.

  • Address and/or escalate daily production barriers with appropriate support personnel.

  • Support regulatory and customer audits.

  • Evaluate production schedules by completing an analysis of the customer backlog, customer ship dates, and the master scheduler priority list.

  • Interpreting company policies to ensure team member alignment.

  • Prepare previous day lookback reports (time off summary, scrap report, machine status metrics, etc.) for daily run the business meeting.

  • Lead and champion Parker Lean System and be a resource for production team members.

  • Execute within the Parker Lean System through the support of team Improvement activities in the elimination of process area waste.

  • Conduct periodic progress reviews, initiate problem solving, and implement action plans to correct unfavorable deviations and provide recognition for positive performance.

Qualifications

COMPETENCIES
REQUIRED

  • Effective interpersonal, communication, coaching, mentoring, and leadership skills.
  • Working knowledge of industry processes and equipment along with knowledge of quality and material (MRP) systems and their application in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work through technical issues using experience, knowledge and technical experts when necessary.
  • Good conflict management abilities.
  • Strong technical and manufacturing background
  • Ability to effectively manage the shift.
  • Ability to learn and understand company policies, procedures, applicable regulations, products and processes.
  • Ability to subjectively evaluate subordinate employees' performance.
  • Basic understanding of personal computers, operating systems, and spreadsheet software.

WORK EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED

  • 3 to 5 years related manufacturing experience
  • 1 to 2 years leadership/supervisory experience

EDUCATION
REQUIRED

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 2 or more years of direct supervisory experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment, or
  • 10 or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment, including at least two years of leadership experience and a willingness to obtain a related bachelor's degree, strongly preferred.
