Illinois CancerCare is seeking a full-time Accountant to join our team! The Accountant provides payroll-related accounting support, journal entries, reconciliations, reporting assistance, and help with monthly close. A successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree in accounting, excellent communication skills, and attention to detail. Pay & Benefits
- Expected Hiring Range: $22-$35/hr

Responsibilities
What you'll do:
- Prepare the monthly close for the practice to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure accruals are recorded appropriately each month.
- Work with the Accounting Manager to obtain all necessary financial information and explanations.
- Ensure compliance with all Management Services Agreements related to the practice.
- Maintain accurate accounting for the practice, including opening balance sheets and subsequent adjustments.
- Reconcile all balance sheet accounts monthly and maintain valid supporting documentation.
- Review the monthly Reporting Package for accuracy, reasonableness, and completeness.
- Ensure timely submission of Reporting Packages to the Accounting Manager and Director of Finance; respond promptly to inquiries.
- Meet all corporate reporting deadlines.
- Provide various practice-specific reporting as requested by Finance leadership.
- Serve as the Finance point of contact for payroll-related matters between HR, payroll partners, and leadership.
- Review payroll data for accuracy; research and resolve discrepancies.
- Monitor stipend and mileage tracking for accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare and review payroll analysis with Finance leadership and Directors.
- Support special projects, year-end items, and other assigned duties.
- Assist in the annual budgeting process for the practice.
Qualifications
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- 0-2 years of relevant experience (entry level)
